In one week, the Railways will scrutinize the pension papers of 19,000 retired employees and their widows, sending a cheque to the concerned department for payment.
According to details, following the instructions of Chief Accounts Officer Zia Islam Niazi, Divisional Accounts Officer Railway Syed Faizan Abbas set up special pensioners’ cell for the 19,000 pensioners in Lahore division, including retired men and widows, to pay their pensions on time.
The one-window operation will ensure the checking and completion of retired railway employees’ paperwork within seven days, without any hassle for payment. The cheques will be sent to the relevant department, so that pensioners do not have to visit the railway offices to collect their pensions.
