After success of sequel, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ is in the works

Plot and cast details are yet to be revealed

The success of Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 has taken the Indian film industry by storm as the film earned up to 900 million at the box office in just the first week of its release. Budgeted at INR 650-800 million, the film, directed by Anees Bazmee, featured some of Bollywood's latest favourites, Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, as well as seasoned actor Tabu.

Just a week into the film's release, producer Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani announced their decision to produce the third instalment of the film, Bhool Bhulaiyya 3. In a report by PinkVilla cited by Hindustan Times, producer Bhushan Kumar revealed, “We are definitely taking the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise forward. There is enough scope in the premise and we will announce more details at the right time”. 

Prior to the release of Bhool Bhulaiyya 2, Kartik told the Press Trust of India, “This is a different and new story. It is not a remake, it is a sequel, which has a new story, set in the world of Bhool Bhulaiyaa, which will make people nostalgic”. With Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 as one of the biggest successes of the film industry this year, netizens are pleased to learn a third film is in order!

Kiara took to Instagram to thank fans for their overwhelming response to the film, “Thank you for giving our film Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 so much love! Our hearts are filled with gratitude”. 

The film's first instalment was initially released in 2007, directed by Priyadarshan and starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan and Shiney Ahuja.
