Sufi to head PM’s Strategic Reforms

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has appointed Mother Teresa Award winning public policy expert Salman Sufi as the head of the Prime Minister's Strategic Reforms. Sufi would carry out this responsibility voluntarily.
Sufi, who specialises in introducing unique social welfare schemes, served as the director general of the Strategic Reform Unit during Shahbaz’s previous term as the Punjab chief minister. He introduced a number of people-friendly schemes such as the Punjab Women Protection Act, Violence Against Women Centre, Women on Wheels and the Shehr-e-Khamoshan.
Salman Sufi was named one of the top-five women's rights activists in the world alongside the current US President Joe Biden and was awarded the Vital Voices Award.
