Abdul Hannan, Rovalio’s ‘Bikhra’ dethrones ‘Pasoori’
Looks like the Pasoori fever is finally dying– or it has rather been replaced by another banger! On Tuesday, Spotify Pakistan uploaded the list of top 10 songs in Pakistan during the week of May 13-19. After consistently staying on top of the charts for months, it was shocking to see Pasoori on the second number with Abdul Hannan and Rovalio’s Bikhra dominating the list.
“Bikhra on loop” wrote the streaming platform as they shared a list of Spotify’s weekly Pakistan Charts.
Overwhelmed by the love, Hannan also took to the media sharing app to thank his fans on this "emotional" moment. "If you showed this to Hannan 4 months ago, he would’ve probably laughed and not believed it. This is such an emotional moment for me. No corporations, no brand sponsorships, no big studios, no labels, no platform support, literally nothing. [I did] all of this while managing my full time job as a software engineer. All i had was you guys, my genuine listeners and supporters. I have nothing but gratitude. I love you all so much," read the caption.
Apart from Bikhra, the list included Hannan and Rovalio’s Iraaday at the third spot. Featuring Excuses and Desires by AP Dhillon on the fifth and tenth spot respectively, Azaan Sami Khan’s Ik Lamhe, the Coke Studio hit track Peechay Hutt by Hasan Raheem, Justin Bibis, and Talal Qureshi, and King’s hit number Tu Aake Dekhle complete the list. Harry Style’s As It Was and Shubh’s No Love are also some of Pakistan’s favourite tracks.
According to reports, Peechay Hutt is also a part of Ms. Marvel’s soundtrack. Journalist Haroon Rashid recently shared a picture with the cast members on Twitter, writing, “LOVED the first 2 eps of Ms Marvel. This is the South Asian [representation] I want to see. Sugar-coated saunf, dialogue about SRK’s best film, a soundtrack including Hasan Raheem’s Peechay Hutt. Kamala Khan is unapologetically brown and I LOVE IT.”
