SHC riles police for failing to produce Nimra Kazmi

Justice Kalhoro asked why the police could not recover Nimra and produce her in court?

KARACHI:

The Sindh High Court (SHC) heard the petition for the recovery of Nimra Kazmi and directed the police officer to produce the underage runaway on Friday at 11 o'clock.

A two-judge bench headed by Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro heard the petition for the recovery of Nimra.

According to the investigating officer, the police have no information regarding Nimra. Police raided the given address at Taunsa Sharif, but it turned out to be 18 years old.

Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro asked why the police could not recover the girl and produce her in court? We respect the police; however, the situation is different. The problem is, you don't want to do your job, he added.

According to the investigating officer, WhatsApp videos of the boy and girl were available. On social media, both of them post videos.

Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro remarked that after the statement of 164, it is also necessary to make a statement here.

The court ordered to produce Nirma in court in any case on Friday at 11 o'clock.

Dua Zehra case

Meanwhile, Judicial Magistrate East has extended the remand of the arrested accused at the request of the investigating officer in the case of the alleged kidnapping of Dua Zehra.

The case of the alleged abduction of Dua Zehra was heard before the Judicial Magistrate East Court in Karachi City Courts.

Upon completion of the physical remand, the police produced the arrested alleged Nikah Khwan and the witness.

The investigating officer said that the accused had made some crucial revelations, and he had to be further interrogated and remanded.

The court extended the physical remand of both the accused till May 31 and directed investigating officer to submit a progress report to the investigating officer at the next hearing.

According to police, a kidnapping case was registered against the accused at AlFalah police station.
