KARACHI:

Former finance minister Shaukat Tarin has suggested that former premier Imran Khan was the first person in the country’s history who did not take dictation, and bore the consequences for it.

Addressing a news conference, the former finance minister said that the PTI government left the country’s exports at $32 billion, but within two-and-a-half months of the incumbent government, the exports fell to $10 billion.

He highlighted that they collected record taxes during their term and the current account deficit was less than 4%.

He added that the PTI government managed the economy despite the Covid-19 pandemic, brought health cards and successful youth programmes.
