Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has claimed that PTI Chairman Imran Khan was plotting to cause chaos in the country by holding a long march to Islamabad scheduled for Wednesday, May 25.

“Their [PTI] purpose is to take state institutions hostage by pressuring them. Imran Niazi is not sincere with Pakistan and he only wants to cling to power,” he said in a statement issued late Sunday hours after the former prime minister announced that his party would kick off the much-hyped Islamabad long march against the 'imported government' this week.

“I am inviting the entire nation. People belonging to all walks of life including labourers, ex-service men and others should participate in the long march for the real freedom of the country,” said Khan while addressing a news conference along with other party leaders.

Reacting to his statement, Memon said the ousted premier wanted to be “imposed” on the nation again and seeking to come into power through backdoor.

“Why Imran Khan wants to run away from electoral reforms? We also want elections, but before that there must be election reforms,” he added.

Memon said Imran was trying to dictate institutions by asking them to stay ‘neutral’.

“15 days ago he said that institutions should not remain neutral, today he says that institutions should be neutral. There is a contradiction in the words and deeds of Imran Khan,” he remarked.

Come what may the coalition government led by PML-N will not be blackmailed by Imran, the PPP minister added.
