ECP to publish final delimitation in 2nd week of August

Commission expresses satisfaction over progress on constituencies’ delimitation

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) would publish the final delimitation of constituencies in the second week of August.

An important meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was held on Wednesday. The meeting, which was chaired by the chief election commissioner (CEC), was attended by secretary, members and other officials.

The meeting was briefed on the ongoing work and progress regarding delimitation of constituencies.

It was informed that the initial delimitation report would be presented to the National and Provincial Assemblies on May 25. It was also told that the initial delimitation would be published for 30 days from May 29 to June 28.

The meeting noted that suggestions and objections on constituencies’ delimitation could be submitted to the commission, which would be heard from July 1 to 30.

Following this, it was told, the final delimitation lists would be published in the second week of August.

The commission also expressed satisfaction over the progress on constituencies’ delimitation. It said that all work should be completed on merit and according to the schedule prescribed by the law.
