Differently-abled man set on fire

Unidentified suspects abducted a differently-abled man from the Ghulam Muhammadabad area, before him to Nishatabad and setting him on fire. Rescue 1122 personnel rushed the victim to Allied Hospital for treatment after giving him first-aid. Police have yet to register a case.

According to details, 35-year-old Shehzad Saleem, a resident of Sabri Chowk Civil Quarter, was sitting outside his house when he was abducted by three unidentified persons on a motorcycle. Shehzad was mute and suffered from visual impairment. The suspects took him to a crop field near Bawa Chak in the Nishatabad area, tortured him, sprayed oil on his body and set him on fire before fleeing the scene.

The victim, Shehzad, ran out of the crops. When nearby shopkeepers saw him, they put mud and sand on him to extinguish the fire and informed Rescue 1122. Rescue teams rushed Shehzad to Allied Hospital's burn unit.

According to Shehzad’s family, they also informed Rescue 15 but the police just arrived at the spot and left without taking any action. They further added that “Nishatabad police station and Ghulam Muhammadabad police refused to register a case.”
