KARACHI:

Imran Khan’s government was overthrown by Allah Almighty rather than any conspiracy of the United States of America (USA) or the opposition coalition against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, said Pak Sarzameen Party Chairman Syed Mustafa Kamal while addressing a women’s gathering at Jinnah Garden on Sunday.

Lashing out at the PTI chief for failing to deliver on the promises he made as PM, Kamal said, Imran Khan should have apologised to the people of Karachi for not doing anything when his government came to an end.

Following the PTI’s conduct, people of Karachi have decided they would no longer be deceived, the PSP chief said. Aiming at other political leaders, Kamal boomed at Asif Zardari: “You have become accustomed to the corrupt MQM. Don’t make the mistake of thinking the PSP is MQM. Today the youth of Sindh have become politically aware and will not be fooled by the PPP and MQM.”

Both the parties talk but never deliver, he said. However, Kamal added that, “The day the PSP gets the mandate, the quota system will be abolished.”

Waving to a cheering crowd, he said, “Today, the PSP has proved by holding a meeting of women that we are a national party.”

He said that Imran Khan had promised an empowered mayor through direct election. He promised educational institutions, afford[1]able electricity, recreational places, playgrounds, hospitals. The people of Karachi were promised jobs, millions of trees, clean water projects. Promises were made but none of them were fulfilled.

The PSP chief added that when he [Imran Khan] came to Karachi, instead of apologising, he started singing a new tune that people should forget all the promises he made for Karachi and fight America.

Four years later, the only thing Imran had to tell the public was, “Farah Gogi is innocent.” Imran’s mentality can be gauged by the fact that he is calling traitor (Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq) the people and institutions, who had brought him into power in the first place.

Kamal said that the fact is that corruption increased in Imran Khan’s era. If Imran claims to be such an anti-imperialist seeking freedom from America, he should have brought Aafia Siddiqui home on his return from his visit to the USA.

PSP President Anis Qaim Khani said that today the PSP has filled this ground with women only. This city does not belong to any Imran Khan, any Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and any Bilawal. This city belongs only to Mustafa Kamal.

“After holding a meeting of a few thousand people, people used to say that Karachi is ours, today is May 15 and the mothers and sisters of Karachi have held a grand meeting in Bagh-i-Jinnah and proved that Karachi belongs to Mustafa Kamal only,” he added.
