Lawyer escapes unscathed in attack

A local senior lawyer Syed Ayaz Zahoor Advocate on Friday narrowly escaped an attempt on life when armed men opened fire at his vehicle in the Zarghoon road area of Quetta.
Police told The Express Tribune that he was traveling in a motorcar with his driver when the vehicle came under attack in the high-security zone of the city.
The senior lawyer narrowly escaped unhurt. The attackers also managed to escape after committing the crime in broad daylight.
Police reached the spot and opened investigation into the incident. Members of the legal fraternity in Quetta strongly condemned the attack and urged the government to arrest the culprits behind it.
In a statement, the Balochistan High Court Bar Association (BHCBA) announced a boycott of courts on today Saturday to record their protest over the incident.
The BHCBA lamented that the government had failed to protect the lives of the members of the legal fraternity in the province and asked police to investigate the matter and arrest those responsible.
