Rawalpindi police hand over two-and-a-half-year-old child to parents

RAWALPINDI:

A two-and-a-half-year-old girl from the Tarnol area of Islamabad, who went missing from Ayub Park Rawalpindi during the Eid holidays, was found by Rawalpindi police six days later and reunited with her parents.

The parents expressed their gratitude and joy after they found the missing girl. They also paid rich tribute to the Rawalpindi police for their untiring efforts in finding the missing minor girl.

Police had also publicised the girl's disappearance on social media.

Meanwhile, it came to the knowledge of the police that the girl was at the house of Ghulam Muhammad, a resident of Attock. According to the police, Ghulam Muhammad, who had visited Ayub Park with his wife and sister-in-law, had found the girl alone and took her with them for her safety. They also kept on searching for the girl's parents.

When the night fell, they took the girl with them to Attock. After the Eid holidays, Ghulam Muhammad saw the poster about the missing girl on social media and approached the Rawalpindi police.

Police then transferred the girl from Attock to Rawalpindi and handed her over her to her mother.

DSP Civil Lines Farhan Aslam said that all legal requirements related to the formal hand over of the girl to the parents were being met.

Earlier, Morgah police had registered a kidnapping case on a complaint of the girl’s mother, Ghazala Bibi.

According to the park administration, more than 0.1 million people visited Ayub Park in Rawalpindi during the Eid holidays. More than 40 children were lost in the park, however, Rawalpindi police and park administration found the children and handed them over to their parents.

The SHO Morgah said that a large number of people arrived at Ayub Park with their children during the Eid holidays. During this time, more than 40 children were separated from their parents, but police teams and the park administration found them and handed them over to their parents. However, he said, that the one two-and-a-half-year-old girl could not be traced despite all efforts.
