Mountaineer scales Kanchenjunga peak
Sports Board Punjab (SBP) Director General (DG) Javed Chohan applauded young mountaineer Shehroze Kashif on scaling the world's 3rd highest peak, Kanchenjunga, in Nepal.
He said on Friday Shehroze Kashif, the Youth Ambassador of Youth Affairs and the Sports Department Punjab, provided yet another delight to the nation through his unprecedented achievement.
Chohan said that after scaling world's three highest peaks – Mount Everest, K-2 and Kanchenjunga – Shehroze was a true role model for the young generation.
"Scaling the world's three tallest peaks at such a young age is absolutely a great achievement," adding that Shehroze unfurling Pakistan's flag at the peaks is a grand distinction.
"The entire nation is proud of Shehroze's unique feat, courage, talent and abilities," he added.
By scaling Kanchenjunga peak, Shehroze set two unique world records: he became the first-ever Pakistani and the youngest mountaineer in the world to summit Kanchenjunga peak, which is 8,586 metres. He also became the youngest mountaineer in the world to summit Mount Everest (8,849m), K-2 (8,611m) and Kanchenjunga.
