Senior PML-N leader assassinated inside bedroom

Senior PML-N leader Rana Ahmed Ali Arain, father of PML-N MPA Mian Naveed Ali, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Dera. According to details, Arain was present in his room when unidentified suspects shot and killed him.
Upon receiving the information, Pakpattan DPO Naseebullah Khan, SP Investigation Akram Khan Niazi and Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Sohail Kefi reached the scene. Police teams reviewed the incident and have started a thorough investigation, while forensic laboratory teams are inspecting the scene. Police seized CCTV cameras and detained staff for questioning.
Meanwhile, news of Arain's murder spread rapidly and a large number of PML-N workers, officials and citizens reached his residence to pay their respects. Arain's body was shifted to hospital for postmortem. Former MNA Sardar Mansab Ali Dogar, former provincial minister Dr Farrukh Javed and President Central Association of Traders Haji Muhammad Waseem have strongly condemned the murder.
On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Mian Hamza Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the murder of PML-N MPA s father and also expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Mian Naveed Ali.
Taking stern notice of the incident, CM Hamza has ordered the Inspector General of Police to submit a report and said that the culprits involved must be brought to the book immediately.
“This is a test case for the police. The requirements of justice should be met in the case,” the CM added.
