Benedict Cumberbatch thinks Marvel should introduce an Indian superhero with a dance number

The actor thinks Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan are good choices for the role

While everyone is ecstatic about seeing Benedict Cumberbatch in Marvel’s most-anticipated film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the American actor wishes to see an Indian superhero be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and he already has a name in mind to play the part.

The 45-year-old actor suggested that it’s time Bollywood introduces its first Indian superhero and that a dance number will be a perfect way to do it.

Cumberbatch praised Bollywood and its global influence in an interview during promotions for Doctor Strange. “There are incredible Indian actors, whether they are born in the UK or not. Obviously, Sir Ben Kingsley or Dev Patel are incredible, who I just had the good fortune to work with. I mean it’s obvious you have an incredibly talented and incredibly thriving cinematic culture and have done it for years. I have loved the filmmakers that have done work in the English language and you’ve had a massive influence. I think Bollywood needs to sort of be part of the MCU. Maybe have a massive dance and bring in the first Indian superhero,” said Cumberbatch to The Indian Express.

When it comes to who should play the said superhero from Bollywood, Cumberbatch was quick to name Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan. He told PTI, "[Shah Rukh] Khan is great." Both of these actors played superheroes in Bollywood films. While Khan has Ra.One up his belt, Roshan has been playing the superhero Krrish for three franchises now.
