Suspected facilitator of KU bomber arrested
Investigators have arrested a man on suspicion of facilitating the Karachi University suicide bombing.
Intelligence agencies, Rangers and police took into custody a student of the Karach Universit (KU) residing in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area and bundled him off to an undisclosed location, an officer of the investigation agency told The Express Tribune requesting anonymity as he was not authorized to talk to the media.
Earlier on Wednesday, police arrested an alleged facilitator of the attack that killed three Chinese nationals and a Pakistani man.
The sources also said that the police interviewed over a dozen people, during raids in various areas of Gulistane-Jauhar, Safura Chowrangi, Gulshan-e-Hadid and Old City Area.
The sources identified the arrested suspect as Bebgar Imdad, who was traced with the help of mobile phone link. Investigators have clues that the detained student hauled up on Sunday facilitated the female suicide bomber at KU.
Authorities recovered some foreign literature and laptops from his possession which contained some content related to a social networking site. The FIA Cyber Crime is also assisting in interrogating the detained student.
Three Chinese teachers and their van driver were killed in the suicide bomb attack claimed by the banned Balochistan Liberation Army and carried out by Shari Baloch a secondary school teacher in her native Kech district in Balochistan.
She completed her B.Ed in 2014 and M.Ed in 2018. She did her Master's in zoology from the University of Balochistan and MPhil from the Allama Iqbal Open University.
