A 16-year-old boy was found tortured and brutally killed. According to details, the victim was abducted by unknown persons and strangled, struck in the head with a rock and brutally killed.
According to Sharqpur police station SHO, Abdul Latif Gujjar, the abduction of the victim was reported at 11 pm.
They registered an FIR and started investigation. The next morning, the victim’s body was found near Jalalpur Araiyan village.
He was immediately taken into custody by the local police, with DSP Nasir Mushtaq and forensic lab team reaching the spot to gather forensic evidence.
According to DSP Mushtaq, foul play came to light only after the postmortem report was completed.
Police launched an investigation against the accused.
According to the boy’s father, Muhammad Buta, his son was abducted two days ago; the disappearance was reported to Sharqpur police station.
The victim’s father stated that unknown persons raped and killed his son with a rock. He appealed to DPO Sheikhupura to arrest the killers as soon as possible and punish them severely.
Teenagers being murdered is unfortunately not a new occurrence in Punjab.
In February 2022, a 13-yearold boy was allegedly murdered by his adoptive parents in Lahore.
The body was found in an empty plot and a postmortem showed that the boy was strangled eight months ago.
Further investigation showed that the victim was to inherit a 1.5 marla plot of land, thus establishing a potential motive for the crime.
Meanwhile in April 2022, a landlord and his servant were arrested for allegedly murdering a teenage shepherd by hanging him from a tree.
One of the teenager’s sheep started grazing in the landlord’s fields in Ali Pur Tehsil, enraging him and leading to him torturing the boy before ultimately killing him.
Separately, a 15-year-old boy was murdered and found in the Chowk Steel Bagh area of Kasur.
According to details, the boy had gone missing after leaving to go work at a poultry farm. Five days later, the family received a phone call claiming that the boy had committed suicide, however when the family retrieved the body, there were signs of torture and sexual abuse.
The family alleged the boy was raped and murdered, protesting on Ferozepur road, whilst accusing seven of the victim’s colleagues.
According to reports, the suspects had been arrested and were being questioned.
In March 2022, a man allegedly shot his sister dead in Kharrianwala following a domestic dispute.
The 19-year-old victim, a married woman, visited her mother’s house on the day of the incident.
While there, she engaged in a quarrel with her brother, who allegedly drew a gun and shot her dead at the scene. The victim’s body was returned to her family, while the accused was arrested and charged under the relevant criminal provisions.
