To make Eid more colorful, the women completed the purchase of bangles, henna, and jewelry from various stalls set up in different markets of the federal capital.
Talking to APP, Nazia Pervez, a young girl, said that there is no Eid without bangles, henna, and jewelry as these are the most essential items to add color to a happy occasion.
A vendor who has set up a bangle stall in the G-7 market six days ago, Shamim Raza said that business is going well this year. “I have been setting up stall here for more than three years, and this year is good,” she said, adding that prices depend on product design and quality. "We were offering bangles as cheap as Rs50 a set," she said. This year metal bangles and a new design, popularly known as 'sunflower' and priced at Rs200 to Rs400 per set are in high demand."
National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage Lok Virsa 'Eid Bazaar' is pulling crowd, especially young girls who come to buy different items including chunri, traditional paranday, khussay, jewellery, handmade embroidery, mehndi, traditional bangles to add colour to Eid festivities.
Lok Virsa official Anwarul Haq said that from bangle makers to henna artists, the Eid Bazaar included almost everything people look for ahead of Eid. The festival has brought female glass bangle makers from famous districts, has set up an art and craft bazaar, garments and henna stalls, artisans' displays and other attractions.
