Missing Nimra Kazmi emerges happily married in DG Khan
The girl reportedly missing from Karachi's Malir Saudabad area was found in Taunsa Tehsil of Dera Ghazi Khan.
Nimra Kazmi, who was reported missing on April 16, said she left for Dera Ghazi Khan on April 17 and got married to her childhood fiancée on April 18.
Her disappearance like that of Dua Zehra had caused an uproar in the civic circles and the social media with people strongly criticizing the government and police for failing to provide safe environment to girls stepping out of homes.
In a video message gone viral on the social media, Nimra claims that she went to the man she was engaged to since her childhood. "My parents wanted to break the engagement with Shah Rukh and marry me off to an elderly man. I chose to marry Shah Rukh on my own free will," she said in the video message and a statement recorded in the Taunsa court. Shah Rukh is a resident of Tibi Qaisarani area of Taunsa Sharif Tehsil of Dera Ghazi Khan.
Nimra in the complaint filed before the Additional Sessions Judge Taunsa, Yasir Arafat, accused her father of forcing her to marry an older man.
She told the court that her parents had engaged her to Shah Rukh as a child and all her life she believed to be his wife one day. However, when Nimrah's parents tried to break the engagement and marry her to another man, she left her home and got married to the man she loved on free will.

She claimed that her father wants to get her divorced and separate her from her husband. She further said that her parents were influencing the police to forcibly take her away from her husband and that she fears for her and her husband's life.
Judge Yasir Arafat immediately restrained the police from harassing Nimra and Shah Rukh.
Nimrahh Kazmi's marriage certificate and statement have also come to light. In the video, the marriage ceremony is being performed while in another statement, Nimra Kazmi demanded the removal of missing photos and other content from social media.
When contacted in this regard, Taunsa District Police Offcier Muhammad Ali Waseem told Express that on finding the presence of Nimrahh Kazmi in Taunsa area of Dera Ghazi Khan, it was found that she got married of her own free will and has recorded a statement in the court.He said, all possible cooperation will be extended to Karachi police if contact in accordance with the law.
