A man allegedly broke into a house and raped a teenage girl at gunpoint on Sunday.
According to the police report, a resident of the 541GB area stated in her complaint that she and her husband had left the house and their teenage daughter was alone at home when Muhammad Imran allegedly broke into the house and raped her after threatening to kill her.
Police registered a case under the Section 376 of PPC and carried out raids to arrest the suspect.
Sexual assault on women is an unfortunately commonplace occurrence in the province. In December 2021, a similar incident occurred in Khurrianwala where a woman was alone at home when a suspect allegedly forcibly entered the house and raped the victim at gunpoint.
Another incident also occurred in the same month in Dijkot, where a suspect came to the victim’s house under false pretenses and allegedly raped her at gunpoint.
Minors are also frequent targets of sexual violence. In December 2021 in Dijkot, two minor boys were sexually assaulted in separate incidents. They were aged 9 and 1. In both cases, the victims were lured to secluded spots by their assailants.
