Woman assaulted in rickshaw

As the city goes more insecure for women, a 40-year old was raped in the Super Highway area on the night between Saturday and Sunday. Police have registered a case against unidentified suspects on the woman’s complaint and started investigating.

According to police officials, the victim, a resident of Lasi Goth, said she was on her way home from the market in a rickshaw.

During the ride home, the rickshaw driver picked up another man, and both of them talked secretly to each other before the driver sped off the rickshaw to an unknown place where both of them tortured and raped her. Police officials further said that the woman was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical examination. Police have registered a case against two unidentified suspects on the victim’s complaint.
