Police arrest alleged murderer during combing operation

ISLAMABAD:

Four armed robbers broke into a house and shot dead an elderly man when he put up resistance in G-6 area of the federal capital.

Police said that the suspects beat up the man named Eid Badshah and then killed him shot and killed the man but also got away Rs150,000, gold jewellery and other valuables. The robbers also beat up three domestic workers.

During the robbery, one of their accomplices remained outside the house to monitor the situation while the others committed the robbery. Police handed over the body to the family after completing legal and medical formalities.

Meanwhile, Islamabad police have arrested two accused including a murderer during a search and combing operation in Nilore area on Sunday.

A police spokesman said that following orders of Inspector General Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younus, a targeted search and combing operation was conducted in Chirah village, and the surrounding forest areas of Nilore police station.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Muhammad Faisal Kamran and led by Superintendent of Police (SP) with a rural and heavy contingent of police officials. An accused named Haris was held by the police teams who was wanted in a murder case.

Police team also recovered two pistols with ammunition from the house. Another accused who tried to flee was held by police after doing aerial firing. In the forest area, police teams raided and dismantled a drug den erected by a notorious drug dealer Jibran alias Kala.

SSP Operations said that the purpose of the search operation was to heighten the security in the area and to curb crime and that the operations in different areas will continue.
