RAWALPINDI:

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari reached United Kingdom on Wednesday, wherein he is expected to meet Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader and deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

According to sources, the PPP chief flew to UK on a British Airways flight after reaching the Islamabad International Airport between Tuesday and Wednesday night.

They said Bilawal would stay in the UK for a few days, where he is also expected to meet the former premier.

The two sides are expected to discuss ongoing political issues, including those pertaining to the newly-formed coalition government, they added.

It is worth mentioning here that there were reports that the PPP chief would be given the portfolio of Foreign Ministry in the coalition government. The matter, however, became further complicated on Tuesday, when the new federal cabinet took oath without Bilawal being a part of it.

Reports indicate that the PPP chief is meeting the PML-N supremo to revolve certain matters, including the inclusion of Awami National Party (ANP), Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) and Mohsin Dawar into the federal cabinet.

It is also important to note here that PPP’s Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar was offered the minister of state slot, but he refused to take the oath of office, citing his decision to prepare for the next elections instead of joining the coalition government.
