Abbottabad Deputy Commissioner Tariq Salam Marwat on Wednesday said that Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA), Water and Sanitation Services Company Abbottabad (WSSCA) and Health department should take measures for Dengue control around construction sites, government buildings and other areas.
He expresses these views while chairing a meeting regarding Dengue Control in district Abbottabad on Wednesday. The Health department Abbottabad briefed the DC about the measures taken to control the dengue outbreak.
Marwat while finalising the dengue control and preparedness, called for the training of staff. He also directed the health and other departments to launch a special awareness campaign.
He said that standing water is the number one breeding spot for mosquitoes and directed taking steps to prevent standing water in urban as well as rural areas and ordered dengue control inside health centers to avoid any emergencies.
Meanwhile, Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs) and C&W Abbottabad inspected 82 schools, 69 health centres, 37 Patwar Khana and 38 development schemes during the months of February and March this year.

Around 8,507 points were checked and Rs1.6 million in fines were imposed on bylaw violators. This was disclosed during the district Abbottabad monthly performance review committee meeting chaired by District Commissioner (DC) Abbottabad Tariq Salam Marwat.
TMAs also committed to removal of 1297 speed breakers, and implementation of price-fixing on a daily basis by price control magistrates in the markets in the morning so that the goods are available to the citizens at controlled rates.
He said that departments should further improve their performance and ensure that the complaints received on the Pakistan Citizen Portal be resolved.
