‘Sehat Card not being rolled back’

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Minister Health and FInance Taimur jhagrha, while reacting to the rumors on social media, has said that the Sehat Card is not being rolled back.

Tweeting from his official handle, the minister said that there is absolutely no truth in any rumors that the Sehat Card program is being discontinued.

“In Pakhtunkhwa, the program is independent of the federal govt. In the next cabinet meeting, we will approve legislation to ensure that universal health coverage is mandated by law in K-P” the tweets read.

The tweets also read that close to 1.1 million individuals have benefited from the Sehat Card in K-P, and we will, Insha'Allah, take the program from strength to strength. In March alone, over 80,000 K-P residents benefited from the Sehat Card.

Criticizing the newly established federal government, Taimur tweeted that the federal govt has been silent on Imran Khan’s flagship initiative that now provides free health coverage to over 150 million Pakistanis, residents and providers in the rest of Pakistan should also rest assured that rolling back the program cannot be an option.

The tweets added that the health card will continue, because it is now a demand of the people of Pakistan, and it will Insha'Allah be one of the many achievements forming the lasting legacy of Imran Khan to Pakistan.
