Elderly man shot dead in Daultala

DAULTALA:

A 60-year-old man named Mehmood Ahmed Khan was shot dead in Machhia in the limits of Jatli police station on Tuesday.

The deceased’s son Samad Mehmood registered a case at Jatli police station. He informed the police that he and his mother were sleeping in the courtyard of the house while his father, Mehmood, was sleeping outside the courtyard.

“When I woke up for sehri I saw my father who had a sign of a gunshot on his forehead and a 30 bore pistol was lying on his bed. Villagers gathered at our house after hearing a hue and cry but my father was already dead,” he said. Mehmood added that his father did not have any personal enmity with anyone. After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and took the body into their custody.

They handed over the body after completing legal and medical formalities. A case has been registered.

Meanwhile, Rawat police arrested three motorcycle lifters and recovered nine stolen motorcycles from their possession during crackdown

Police in an operation arrested three motorcycle lifters, identified as Saad, Shehryar and Khurram and recovered nine stolen motorcycles from their possession.

Police have registered separate cases against all of them and further investigation was in progress.
