Juniors’ tour cancelled due to visa problems
LAHORE:
The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has called off its junior hockey team’s tour of Europe due to visa problems.
“The delay in visa processing, forced us to call off the junior team’s tour,” a PHF spokesperson told The Express Tribune.
The PHF selection committee had recently named an 18-member squad for the tour which was arranged as preparation the Youth Olympics to take place in Singapore. According to the fixtures announced earlier, the team was expected to leave in the last week of June to participate in the tri-nation tournament in the Netherlands and then play a three-test series in Belgium.
According to the PHF, the senior team, scheduled to visit Europe, will play warm-up series against the juniors following the training camp that is currently on-going in Karachi.
