CHAK JHUMRA:

A man allegedly set fire to his uncle's house, as a result of which household items were burnt to ashes.

In other incidents, wheat field and bakery equipment were burnt to ashes.

According to details, Ahmed Shakur, a resident of X Block area of Madina Town Police Station, grew angry with his uncle for not receiving money from his parents and allegedly set his house on fire. As a result, the house and any household items therein were gutted, but Rescue 1122 firefighters were able to contain the blaze.

Madina Town police registered a case and started searching for the alleged arsonist.

This is not the first arson case in the province. Seven members of a family were killed in a house fire in October 2021.

Allegedly, the fire was intentionally set by relatives of a woman who had married into the family, though of her own will.

The woman’s family were unhappy with the union, so they allegedly doused the residence in petrol and set it alight, killing their own daughter in the process.

It reportedly took Rescue 1122 an hour to extinguish the blaze. In other incidents, on Jaranwala Road, a landlord set fire to wheat husks. The fire grew out of control and engulfed the landlord's wheat crop nearby, which was burnt to ashes.

On Rahmania Road Chenab Chowk, the kitchen of the bakery caught fire due to short circuit. As a result, the equipment and goods inside were destroyed.
