JUI-F nominates Durrani for NA deputy speaker post
The JUI has nominated Zahid Akram Durrani for the post of National Assembly deputy speaker.
The seat fell vacant after deputy speaker Qasim Suri resigned following the no-confidence motion submitted against him by the PML-N.
Sources said Durrani had received the nomination papers.
The National Assembly will elect deputy speaker on April 20, according to the schedule issued by the National Assembly Secretariat.

The nomination papers can be obtained from the Legislative Branch of the Lower House of Parliament and submitted with the National Assembly secretary till April 19 (Tuesday) at 12pm.
It may be mentioned that PPP’s Raja Pervaiz Ashraf was elected 22nd speaker of the National Assembly unopposed on April 16 as no other candidate had submitted nomination papers against him. PML-N's Ayaz Sadiq, who was initially chairing the session, administered the oath on Ashraf.
The office of the speaker had fallen vacant after Asad Qaiser tendered his resignation in line with the PTI’s decision, minutes before the voting on the no-trust resolution against then premier Imran Khan.
