A 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were molested in separate incidents on Sunday.
According to the police, Nazir Hussain stated in his complaint that his 16-year-old son went to a mosque for Iftar but the suspect, Abdullah, allegedly lured him to his factory and molested him.
At the noise of the victim, residents of the neighborhood gathered and caught the accused. He was handed over to the police.
Meanwhile, a 14-year-old girl of the Khule Nawab area was allegedly lured by Waseem to crop fields and raped.
The villagers caught the suspect and handed him over to Garh police after beating him.
Police registered cases against the suspects under sections 376 and 377 of Pakistan Penal Code and obtained their remand.
Incidents of sexual assault are not uncommon in the province with minors and women being vulnerable targets.
In April 2021, a man was arrested for allegedly raping a 9-year-old girl in Dijkot.
The victim told her parents that a man had assaulted her on her way home. Locals also reported seeing the victim walking through town with a man, who was arrested upon the parents reporting the crime to police.
In a separate incident, a teenage girl was sexually assaulted by a man who broke into her house and assaulted her at gunpoint. A police report was filed.
