The people of Karachi will send Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf packing in the by-elections, they said, adding that the long march, led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, was the catalyst for Imran Khan’s defeat.

A large number of PPP workers and supporters reached the venue in the form of rallies and processions. At the start of the public meeting, PPP Deputy Information Secretary Asif Khan held recitation and Naat after which prayers were offered for martyred party leaders and recently deceased social welfare legend Bilqis Edhi.

The workers chanted slogans on the ouster of Imran Khan and an end to his “unconstitutional measures”. They danced to the tunes of PPP musical anthems. The enthusiasm of workers was evident in the celebrations, while the participants vowed to bring the struggle of martyred leaders of PPP to a logical conclusion and make Bilawal Bhutto the prime minister.

Addressing the gathering, PPP Sindh President Senator Nisar Khoro said that the people deserved congratulations that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s long march overthrew the Imran Khan government. They said that a message had been delivered to all and sundry that Bilawal Bhutto is a reality. They said that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had made Imran Khan’ss removal a lesson to be learnt.

Khoro added that Imran Khan would run from the by-elections in the same manner as he escaped the National Assembly. “Imran Khan and his followers attacked the assembly and violated the sanctity of the constitution.”

He said PPP was the true guardians of the constitution and have been flogged and jailed for persevering its sanctity. “The battle for supremacy of the constitution has been fought in the houses of parliament, but now we will fight Imran Khan Niazi and his followers on the streets in the by-elections. They will not leave the field empty.”
