Police arrest two brothers, launch hunt for three accomplices

Five people killed an elderly woman and injured her two sons over a land dispute after barging into their home.

According to the police complaint, the attackers, including two brothers, hit the victims with batons.

The injured were shifted to a hospital after urgent medical treatment.

Police handed over the body to the heirs after postmortem and arrested the two brothers involved in the murder. Police officials said Muhammad Shahid, a resident of the 74RB area, stated in his complaint that his brother Owais had gone to a shop to buy grocery, where Babar Ali and his brother caught him because of the property dispute.

He stated that the attackers along with Sharafat, Nawab and Naveed brought his brother to his home and grabbed his elderly mother Maqbool Bibi by the hair, dragged her on the ground and beat her with sticks.

When his brother Waqas tried to save his mother, the suspects also thrashed and injured him. The three injured were shifted to hospital where Maqbool Bibi succumbed to her injuries. The police handed over the body to the son of the deceased after postmortem and arrested Waris Ali and Babar after registering a case against the five suspects nominated by the complainant on charges of murder and attempted murder.
