Six more test positive for dengue

Health authorities in Rawalpindi confirmed six more patients with dengue-positive in the last 24 hours, officials said on Saturday.

The number of confirmed dengue patients has now reached 78, while patients being treated for dengue-positive cases in the city hospitals has now touched 17. As many as 61 dengue-positive patients have been discharged from hospitals.

So far this season, 8,765 patients with dengue symptoms have been admitted to hospitals. In the past 24 hours, 111 new patients have been reported with symptoms of dengue.

According to the district health department's report, two cases of Congo fever and 646 cases of Malaria have been reported this season. However, no cases of Mpox have been reported this season.

This year, 1,625 FIRs have been lodged against citizens and business entities, 465 buildings have been sealed, 1,612 challan tickets have been issued, and Rs7.3 million in fines have been imposed so far for the reoccurrence of dengue larvae.

Chief Executive Officer of Rawalpindi District Health Authority (DHA) Dr Asif Arbab Niazi says there is a complete focus on the anti-dengue campaign as regular monitoring of the anti-dengue campaign is being conducted at the tehsil and district levels.
