PM Shehbaz to host allies for iftar, decide on cabinet

Event would be attended by leaders of coalition parties

ISLAMABAD:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will reportedly make his final decision over the formation of the new federal cabinet today when he hosts coalition parties for an iftar dinner in the federal capital. 

According to reports, the event would be attended by leaders of the allied parties and a special committee, constituted to suggest names for the federal cabinet, has also submitted its report to the prime minister.

Reports suggest that Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) would likely get 13 ministries, whereas Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would get 10 and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) would likely get three ministries.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) would be represented in the federal cabinet according to their seats in the National Assembly.

Furthermore, the post of NA speaker would likely be given to the PPP whereas the NA deputy speaker post would likely be allotted to JUI-F.

The confirmed members of the cabinet would be sworn in tomorrow evening or the day after tomorrow.
