In response to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) public mobilisation after being toppled by the opposition’s no-trust move, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to hold rallies in major cities of Punjab immediately after Eidul Fitr.

According to sources, the incumbent ruling party has formulated its strategy in response to the former ruling party’s mass mobilisation attempts.

The party sources said that PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shehbaz will jointly address these public meetings.

The PML-N leadership has also directed Punjab President Rana Sanaullah to prepare a schedule of meetings, it added.

Moreover, the PML-N has also decided to start preparations for the general elections.

The sources added that Maryam and Hamza would look after the public front of the government’s strategy whereas Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would after governmental affairs.

They said that PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif has directed Shehbaz to provide more relief to the people, which is likely to be witnessed in the prices of food and petroleum products.

Prime Minister Shehbaz, the sources said, gave important instructions to his economic team regarding provision of relief to the masses.

After his dismissal from power, former prime minister Imran Khan held his first public meeting in Peshawar.

Addressing the gathering, the former premier announced the beginning of a “freedom struggle”, saying that he would continue to mobilise the people until the incumbent government goes for early elections.

In this regard, the PTI chief announced that he would be holding rallies in all major cities of the country.
