Army chief, Hungarian envoy discuss boosting defence ties

ISPR says the two sides also deliberated upon the measures to enhance defence collaboration

Ambassador of Hungary to Pakistan Bela Fazekas on Thursday called on Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and discussed measures to enhance defence cooperation, besides reviewing regional security, the military said.

"His Excellency Mr Bela Fazekas, Hungarian ambassador, called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, chief of army staff at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, today," the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

It added that during the meeting, matters of mutual interest, overall regional situation and measures to enhance bilateral defence collaboration between both the countries were discussed.

The COAS, the ISPR added, said Pakistan valued its relations with Hungry, which are based on convergence on all important issues relating to regional peace security and stability.

Concluding, the military's media wing said that the visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan's positive role for regional peace and stability and pledged to keep working for better relations between the two countries.

Nearly a week ago, the Ambassador of Nepal to Pakistan called on the COAS and discussed regional security besides other issues.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security situation as well as steps to improve bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed.

"The COAS reiterated that all regional countries need to work collectively for enduring peace and stability in the region," it added.
