KARACHI:

Jamaat -e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that the recent melodrama in the political arena, business of conscience and abuse of powers have affirmed that the JI is the best available option to masses for resolution of crisis in the country.

The JI leader expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held in connection with Free Market -- an initiative for free ration for deserving families in Gulberg area of Karachi. He urged Karachiites to prioritise the election candidates on the basis of ability to deliver with honesty.

He added that the history of the city was evident on the fact that the JI has contributed for the progress and development of the city, while other parties with the mandate from the city on put forth their monetary and political interests instead of the citizens.

On the occasion, the JI Karachi chief urged masses to get united under the JI’s Karachi Rights Movement. He said that the nation has experienced a lot of options and the time has come for the people to support the JI -- a time tested party that had already delivered when provided with an opportunity. He also paid a rich tribute to the organizers of the ceremony for supporting the white collar families.

Further talking about the city, he said that the JI ruled over the city for only 11 out of some seven decades but initiated the most development projects for the city. He added that water crises was the top issue of the city and political parties other than the JI and particularly the MQM did nothing to resolve the issue. He said that the poverty, illiteracy and antisocial behavior are born and flourish in injustice and that is the main problem of our society.

MQM’s rule ‘wrecked’ Karachi Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh has expressed deep concern over the re-imposition of MQM by the PPP in Sindh and said that the opposition, especially the PPP, should not use the citizens of Karachi as sacrificial goats in this power struggle.

In a statement, Mohammad Hussain Mehnati, Ameer of JI Sindh, said that MQM had given nothing except for corpses in sacks, extortion, and ethnic strife, the ruin of the academic future of the new generation during its rule in Karachi. After great difficulty, trade, business, and education in Sindh have returned to normal.

Mehnati added that MQM’s government forced many traders to shift their industry and trade from Sindh to other provinces. Citizens of Karachi have lived in a state of continuous fear and uncertainty for 30 years, which is why the people of Karachi rejected them in the 2018 general elections.
