KARACHI:

The MQM Pakistan (MQM-P) organised a rally at Ayesha Manzil to celebrate the recent decision of the Supreme Court. A large number of people joined the rally.

Addressing the rally, MQM-P senior deputy convener, Aamir Khan said that prime minister's statement regarding the letter was a bundle of lies.

Aamir Khan said, "A few months back, the PM was sitting on the lap of America. Now the PM is coming out with anti-US statements to save his power."

Aamir Khan said, "Efforts to eradicate the MQM are being made since decades. But the support of our mothers, sisters and workers did not let this conspiracy succeed. On the night of August 22, the anti-MQM forces thought that the party has come to an end. But the party workers and top slot saved the organisation."

He claimed that anti-party forces hatched conspiracy against us and snatched our seats in 2018 election. These seven seats also weighed a lot and because of these seven seats, the government fell to the ground.

"We are going forward step by step. We were attacked from all sides. Our opponents made an agreement with the Sindh government. Jamaat-e-Islami also made an agreement. Where all those agreements with PPP have gone?" Aamir said, adding, "We made agreements with the leaders of all national parties for the rights of people of Sindh."

He said that there should be an administrative unit in all over Pakistan. According to the 40 per cent quota, we need a share in the resources.

He further said, "The commission on evacuee property will decide who owns how much land. We have asked for a women's university for this city. Promises were made for the welfare of the industrial areas and the business community of the city. It was said that the MQM is divided on an agreement with the PPP. It was all lies."

Aamir warned the PM that the 14 seats would be taken away from you and given to the real sons of the city. You are alone in the political arena. More than 25 of your MNAs including Aleem and Tareen have left you. The mandate of urban areas of Sindh belongs to MQM and will always remain so. The people were fooled on economic policies.

He said, "We will not trade our nation and people. I salute the judges of the Supreme Court and the judgment is severe blow on the face of those who violated the Constitution."

He said, "We support Shahbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto. But we want our grievances to be addressed first then only we will go with them."

Addressing the rally, MQM Pakistan leader Kanwar Naveed Jamil said, "Our elders laid the foundation of the country. We don't need anyone's certificate for our love to homeland. We are in the field to give rights to our people. In the past, there were conspiracies to eliminate MQM. Our seats were snatched in 2018 election. God is with us just as we are with the people of Pakistan.”
