Terming the dissolution of the National Assembly an unconstitutional move by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Monday vowed to defeat Prime Minister Imran Khan during the next general elections as well after beating in parliament.

"Imran Khan doesn't know what has happened to him... he has been defeated and he is celebrating," Bilawal said while addressing party workers in Sukkur.

He said that during Imran Khan's regime, all institutions of Pakistan became controversial. "These are Pakistan's institutions, not of any one person... We don't want to see their names become controversial because of Imran Khan."

Bilawal said that Imran Khan's "selection" has damaged Pakistan. However, he added, the struggle of PPP workers has yielded results and Imran Khan has been defeated.

"Imran Khan is a coward and did not face our no-confidence motion... he left the field without even playing."

The PPP chairman said that Imran Khan imposed a "coup" only to remain prime minister for three to four more days. "While running away, he broke our constitution. I hope the apex court will make a decision in this regard as per the constitution."

He said that it was the responsibility of the judiciary to protect the constitution. "Is Pakistan's constitution just a piece of paper? or is it worth something?" Bilawal questioned.

The PPP leader went on to say that if Pakistan wanted to become a stable nation then constitutional and legal ways must be adopted. However, he added, PM Imran tore the constitution as if it was just a piece of paper.

He said that the next election would also become controversial and the winner will be called selected without electoral reforms, vowing to defeat the "puppet" in the next elections as well after defeating him in parliament.

Bilawal said that his party will never allow Imran Khan to play with the destiny and Constitution of Pakistan. "Parliament's procedure was halted in an unconstitutional manner but we defeated the puppet democratically."
