The shooting experience: Syra’s love for acting propelled her to try things she wouldn't otherwise
Actor Syra Yousuf, who returned to the silver screen after a long hiatus from acting, recently shared a BTS video from her ongoing drama, Sinf-e-Aahan. The clip shows the actor practising her shooting skills, a part of her training to be an army officer in the inspirational series. The 33-year-old actor penned down her love for acting and how it allows her to take on tasks that she “might not have the courage to do otherwise.”
The Nadeem Baig directorial sees the six Lady Cadets undergo various levels of army training. The girls learn to fly, climb walls, crawl through ditches and use armour and weaponry amongst other adventurous tasks.
Talking about how exceptional the experience of shooting was, the Project Ghazi actor took to Instagram to archive a “crazy” experience. “Lock and load,” she wrote. “One of the many things I love about acting [is that] I get the opportunity to do some of the craziest/coolest things that I might not have the courage to do otherwise.”
Earlier, in an interview with a local publication, Syra, who plays a Christian girl Aarzoo Daniel, shared how a call from the director Sana Shahnawaz convinced her to join television again. “Aarzoo’s character is very important to me because she represents minorities and brings forth their very real problems. I think it is not only relatable to people, but they can also understand that people are often bound in painful relationships and Aarzoo teaches them to get out of it, or at least try to,” asserted Syra about why she took the role.
