Store owner chased Rubina, set her on fire with petrol he carried with him

An elderly woman, who was severely burnt in a fire near the railway line Tariqabad, succumbed to her wounds after a ten-day struggle.

In the case filed by Muhammad Omar, a resident of Tariqabad, it has been stated on the morning of March 21, his mother Rubina Bibi went near Jhumra Road Ghazi Petrol Pump, Mohalla Tariqabad, to buy fruits and other household items. The accused, medical store owner Malik Muzammil Shehzad, allegedly chased Rubina, took out a half liter bottle containing petrol and doused her with its contents before setting her alight.

As a result, she sustained severe burns and was rushed to Allied Hospital's burn unit by rescue workers, where she eventually died. The accused Muzammil rented a shop from Rubina and built a medical store, where he allegedly used to sell narcotics.

Rubina and residents of the area forbade him from sell drugs and asked him to vacate the shop. In retaliation, he poured oil on her and set her on fire, according to Omar’s case.

Mansoorabad police handed over Rubina’s body to her heirs after postmortem and registered a case under section 302 and 336B PPC and started searching for the accused.
