MQM-London activist held
Malir City Police and Rangers, in a joint operation, arrested an accused associated with MQM-London.
They also recovered three improvised explosive devices, a hand grenade, more than three kilograms of explosives, one detonator, a prima cord, two metres of wire, one heavy duty battery, a 30 bore pistol, more than Rs.100,000 in cash, and a mobile phone from his possession
The Malir City Police and Rangers arrested Meraj Ali Sheikh during a joint snap checking operation and recovered arms and explosives from his car.
According to SSP Malir Irfan Bahadur, the arrested accused confessed to joining the MQM-London as a worker in 1988. The accused got his construction company registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council in 2008 under the name of MA Enterprises.

The suspect kept getting contracts from the federal and provincial governments for the construction of schools, colleges and other government buildings.
Sheikh confessed to depositing large amounts of money received from the contracted work in MQM-London's accounts.
The SSP also revealed that in 2014, the accused confessed to have hidden a state-of-the-art weapon, supplied by Syed Muhammad Ahmed alias Aleem Nora, under the ground of an under-construction government college. The latter is allegedly the leader of MQM-London's India Network's team.
