Four terrorists killed in Lakki operation

Terrorists were involved in attacks at police including target killing and blasts

KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA:

Four terrorists were killed in exchange of firing with police and security forces in the mountainous village of Lakki Marwat district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Tuesday.

ISPR and Lakki police confirmed the incident.

Police told The Express Tribune that they had received intelligence reports that four notorious terrorists were present at a house in Wanda Faqiran area – a mountainous village in the Lakki Marwat district and they were planning an attack.

“On this security forces and police acted together and surrounded the house. The terrorists were asked to surrender but opened fire at police. In return firing all of them were killed,” said an official of police, adding that the intelligence based operation (IBO) was conducted in the jurisdiction area of Pizo police station.

“They were on the police most wanted list as they were involved in the attacks at police including target killing and blasts,” he said, adding that the four terrorists had been identified as Aftab, Fazal Rehman, Aleemullah and Yasin.

“Four AK-47 rifles, one RPG-7 and IEDs were recovered from their possession too,” he said.

Police claimed that one terrorist escaped in injured condition and a door to door search was being conducted for his arrest. Another one was arrested too.

“This year in January they gunned down an employee of Balochistan Frontier Corp Rafiullah who was in his native village on vacations,” said the official, adding that they were hardcore terrorists involved in many attacks.

“Three terrorists were residents of Sheri Khel in Lakki Marwat while one of them Yasin was from Bannu district,” he said.
