PESHAWAR:

District administration of all the districts across the province have been directed to take strict action against hoarding, profiteering and sellers of substandard food items.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash presided over a meeting in this regard to review preparations for the holy month of Ramazan at Civil Secretariat on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by administrative secretaries of home, food, agriculture, local government, auqaf department, commissionor and deputy commissioner Peshawar and Director Performance Management and Reforms Unit (PMRU), while deputy commissioners of all districts participated through video link.

Chief Secretary directed district administrations to set up Ramazan facilitation counters at various stores and make all-out efforts to provide maximum relief to the people during the holy month.

The Chief Secretary said that all deputy commissioners should host 'Ramazan dastarkhwan' in different places of their districts with the help of civil society, charity organizations and philanthropists in order to provide free ‘iftar’-cum-meal to the deserving people. The Chief Secretary asked PESCO officials not to carry out load shedding during Sahar and Iftar.
