SIU arrests three suspects after ‘encounter’

Two pistols and as many motorcycles were recovered from possession of accused

Special Invesgation Unit (Siu) police have arrested three suspects in an alleged police encounter in Sachal and recovered weapons and motorcycles from their possession.

The SIU arrested three robbers who were injured in an alleged police encounter near PIDC Society within limits of Sachal police station. The arrested accused have been identified as Maulabakhsh Rind, Sakhawat Bulaidi and Abbas Soomro.

Two pistols and as many motorcycles were recovered from possession of accused. According to SIU SSP Arif Aziz, the accused are involved in robbery, street crimes and other serious offences. When the SIU police party reached near Memon Hospital Safura Chowrangi to arrest suspects, the accused reportedly opened fire with the intention of killing the cops.

However, the police party remained unharmed from the firing of the accused. The suspects were injured in the ensuing shootout and arrested. The suspects have reportedly confessed to committing serious crimes including snatching bangles of women, robbing citizens who took money out of the bank and other street crime in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Mubina Town.
