Teaser for Goher Mumtaz, Kubra Khan’s upcoming film ‘Abhi’ unveiled

The story and music for the film have been penned by Mumtaz

The teaser for actors Goher Mumtaz and Kubra Khan’s upcoming film Abhi was unveiled on Friday night, with the clip promising a hefty dose of romance and drama. With several scenic shots, the film has been directed by Asad Malik, with the story and music being penned by Mumtaz himself.

Opening with shots of a snowy mountainous area, Mumtaz’s character shares in voice-over, “I’ve heard that life always gives you a chance. And if you avail that chance, your life can change.”

Judging by what can be gleaned from the teaser, the story appears to be about two star-crossed lovers who are separated after Mumtaz’s character is dragged away by an unidentified man in the middle of a military conflict. The teaser also features a song sung by the former Jal member, with the original theme song by Shoaib Mansoor. The film will also feature a cameo by Hareem Farooq. 

Sharing the teaser on his Instagram, Mumtaz wrote in the caption, “I love music, colours, emotions, depth, stories that define and drive me as an artist. I have compiled it [all] for you to enjoy [through] this emotional, musical ride in my first dream film Abhi. It’s a reality now! Enjoy the teaser.” Khan also shared the teaser to her Instagram, writing, “It’s out!” in the caption. 

Responding to Mumtaz’s teaser announcement, singer Momina Mustehsan wrote, “All the best! Trailer looks absolutely amazing!” Filmmaker Wajahat Rauf also commented saying, “Best of luck, brother!” 

The release date for the film is yet to be revealed.
