Allama Iqbal’s grandson’s poetry book unveiled
Pakistan Arts Council (PAC) Karachi hosted the unveiling ceremony of Allama Iqbal's grandson Azad Iqbal's collection of Urdu verses, Daana-e-Raaz.
"I have tried to embody the spirit of my grandfather's philosophy in my poems," Azad Iqbal said that he has followed his ancestor by expressing the reality of life through poetry.
The purpose of the event was to carry forward the legacy of the Poet of East Allama Iqbal.
Karachi University former VC Dr Pirzada Qasim Siddiqui, Prof Sehar Ansari, renowned poet Umbereen Haseeb Anbar and Muneeb Mirza graced the occasion and expressed their views on the importance of this book in the present circumstances.
"I want the younger generation to come closer to our language and literature. The book, Daana-e-Raaz, is the result of the sincere love of my family and friends. He also thanked the online sales portal Daraz for its support and role in reviving the golden age of literature," he said.
Scholar Mubeen Mirza said even if Allama Iqbal left this world, , he would always be alive in his verses recited by millions. Azad Iqbal is influenced by his grandfather Allama Iqbal.
Poet and critic Sehar Ansari while addressing the ceremony said that today family is important because the eyes and lights of Iqbal family are present here. Allama Iqbal is one of the great poets of the world. Azad has tried to carry forward the work of Allama Iqbal of mobilising the youth of his time.
