SHC extends stay order against tests for govt jobs

NTS applied to become a party to the case

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has extended the restraining order issued on the petition of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) against SIBA Testing Service test which is related to more than 21,000 government jobs.

The apex court also directed the submission of a reply regarding AG Sindh, IBA Sukkur and other agencies. It also issued notices to IBA Karachi.

A two-judge bench, headed by Justice KK Agha, heard the petition of MQM against the SIBA Testing Service for conducting the test of more than 21,000 government jobs. MQM leader and lawyer Tariq Mansoor Advocate, along with others, appeared in the court.

NTS applied to become a party to the case. The lawyer for the National Testing Service stated that he was also impressed by the request. The said tests were issued without a tender.

MQM lawyer Tariq Mansoor argued that the Board of Universities and others have not yet submitted their reply. "I would like to submit the reply to the reply of the chief secretary."

The lawyer of SIBA Testing Service stated that their answer has been submitted by the Sindh government. Advocate Tariq Mansoor said that IBA Sukkur and SIBA Testing Service are separate entities.

The lawyer for the SIBA Testing Service stated that the authority was only taking screening tests. The court extended the stay order against SIBA Testing Service till April 14.

The court summoned the Sindh advocate general for the next hearing. The court also issued notices to IBA Karachi, directing the university to submit a reply regarding AG Sindh, IBA Sukkur and other agencies.

The court adjourned the hearing of the petition till April 14. The SHC has barred SIBA Testing Service from taking tests.

Kishwar says MQM is a party of the people

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan leader and MNA Kishwar Zehra has said that MQM-P is a middle-class party. "The past of these political parties has not been good. No decision has yet been made on whether to join the ruling coalition." Speaking on the occasion of hearing of the MQM-P petition in the Sindh High Court, Zehra said that the policy of MQM is the policy of the people.

"We see what the parties are thinking about the people." She said that the people tried the first party then the second and now they are trying a third one. We have put our demands before them."

Responding to a question about the ruling coalition, Zehra said that no decision has been taken yet on whether to stay in the ruling coalition or not.
