PESHAWAR:

Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Thursday killed a terrorist involved in Kocha Risaldar suicide attack as well as targeted attacks at police and minority members in Peshawar and Nowshera districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).

Talking to The Express Tribune a police official said that CTD and local police acted on the basis of an intelligence report and raided a house on the outskirts of Peshawar in Urmar village.

“These terrorists were hiding at a safe house in Urmar village. Police asked them to surrender but they opened fire instead and after a two-hour long gun battle terrorist Danyal was killed in the exchange of firing. His two or three aides managed to escape,” he said, adding that they were active members of a banned outfit and were involved in attacks at police as well as Kohca Risaldar suicide attack.

“These terrorists were involved in attack at priest Waliam Siraj and Satnam Singh in Peshawar,” he said, adding that a large contingent of police had been sent to the area to conduct a door to door search operation.

On March 9, CTD police claimed that three facilitators of the Kocha Risaldar blast were killed in an encounter with a CTD team.
