Two men detained for blackmailing US teenager

17-year-old victim was driven to commit suicide due to blackmailing

An FIA Cybercrime team raided a location near Dijkot and arrested two suspects on Thursday.

The suspects were allegedly involved in the case of American teenager who committed suicide due to blackmail and harassment on social media. In-charge of FIA Cybercrime Syed Arshad Ali Rizvi received a request from the United States Embassy that unidentified individuals blackmailed and harassed the 17-year-old American, after procuring explicit pictures and video of her on social media.

They also sent the explicit pictures and videos to the girl's classmates due to which the teenager committed suicide. The FIA Cybercrime Faisalabad appointed Assistant Director Shoaib Riaz as Inquiry Officer for the case, who performed the investigation, utilising the latest technology to track down the accuse.

A location was determined and the FIA team conducted a raid and arrested two accused. Mohammad Arsalan Saeed and Kamal Anwar were detained from a suburban village near Dijkot, with undisputed evidence, mobile phones and digital materials seized from their possession by law enforcement units.

A lawsuit has also been filed against them. According to sources, the arrested accused Arsalan created his Facebook ID some time ago, which he later gave to his friend Kamal after changing his mobile phone. Kamal, along with his other friends, discovered and decided to blackmail
the victim.
